one has to keep attempting the impossible.

Today, I am starting a new position as Alexander von Humboldt Professor of AI at RWTH Aachen University in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle, Germany), while continuing as a Professor of Machine Learning at Leiden University on a part-time appointment.

I am thrilled to have been selected to receive an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, Germany's most highly-endowed research award; supported by this award and substantial additional resources made available by the university, I am now building a new research group at RWTH Aachen University (Germany), dedicated to methodological and technological advances in human-centred AI, AI for Good and AI for All.
